Socio-economic assessment and support for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the northern governorates - Yemen
1. Project Overview
The project "Socio-economic assessment and support for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the northern governorates - Yemen” focus on Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the North of Yemen, to provide to provide socio-economic assessments and support, done remotely, through home visitation. To that end, the project seeks to:
- Reception of self-referrals at the drop-in center.
- Conduct socio-economic assessment at the household level for refugees and asylum seekers, using home visits.
- Maintain a referral mechanism to different/relevant service providers, including legal services, psychological aid/support, and health services, based on the information collected during the socio-economic assessments.
- Conduct rapid assessments in emergency cases and share the rapid assessment findings with UNHCR for decision.
- Proceed with one-off emergency cash assistance payments upon the approval of UNHCR.
- Support the bank’s mobile team during the delivery of cash payments.
- Referral of at-risk or highly vulnerable unregistered asylum seekers to BRA for emergency registration.
- Manage complaints and feedback mechanisms for asylum seekers and refugees through dedicated human resources (Accountability officers, hotline holders etc.), and channels of communication to ensure that refugees and asylum seekers have access to information, and timely feedback on their queries and complaints.
