A partnership for empowering the lives of persons with disabilities

On Thursday, 12th September 2024, a delegation from Handicap International, led by country director Mrs. Reshma Azmi and Project Manager Mr. Ashraf Salam, visited the training hall designated for persons with disabilities as part of the “Sustainable Livelihoods and Integrated Services for Persons with Disabilities and Their Families” project in Amanat Al-Asimah funded by BMZ. Beneficiaries of this project receive training on soft skills, followed by trainings on financial management, business development, and financial literacy.

During the visit, Mrs. Reshma was briefed on the preparations made by SRPD for the implementation and follow up on the training activities. She also engaged directly with some beneficiaries, listening to their suggestions and aspirations for improving their living conditions. Mrs. Reshma expressed her satisfaction with the efforts being made and hoped that the project would have the desired impact in empowering persons with disabilities and their families.

This visit is part of the ongoing communication between HI and SRPD, following a previous visit to the organization’s main office at the end of last month. During that visit, Mrs. Reshma had the opportunity to meet the team and discuss the challenges and current activities of the project, which is being implemented in partnership with SRPD.

SRPD seeks to establish strong partnerships in the humanitarian field, given its important role in expanding the network of relationships and providing quality services and projects that support the most vulnerable groups in Yemeni society.
