SRPD had the honor of hosting Mr. Marin Kajdomcaj, the UNHCR Representative in Yemen, and Mr. Hamed Barekzai, Program Officer, at the SRPD Drop-in Center in Sana’a.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase SRPD’s work in supporting refugees and asylum seekers and to strengthen cooperation between both organizations.
During the visit, Mr. Kajdomcaj and Mr. Barekzai engaged in a comprehensive tour of the center, interacting with staff and beneficiaries. They observed the workflow and key activities, including the services provided, such as socio-economic assessments, emergency cash assistance, referrals, and complaint and feedback mechanisms.
The visit also included a productive dialogue between Mr. Kajdomcaj and Mr. Barekzai and the SRPD team. During this discussion, both parties exchanged information regarding the refugees and asylum seekers, with SRPD representatives highlighting the challenges they face in meeting the increasing demands for services. They also explored ways to enhance future collaboration and ensure better service delivery.
SRPD expressed its gratitude for the visit and looks forward to expanding its collaboration with the UNHCR. Mr. Kajdomcaj expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and expressed optimism about continuing the partnership between UNHCR and SRPD to better serve those in need.
This visit marks an important step in enhancing closer collaboration and building on the shared commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Yemen.
