Safe Road for Peace & Development (SRPD) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that was established in August 2017 with a vision to provide work through innovative approaches in Yemen to empower people, save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice and life with integrity, especially for those living in poverty and marginalized communities, where they can utilize their potentials for sustainable development.

Our vision is to be a leading organization where communities are empowered to live sustainably, and all individuals enjoy their fundamental rights according to basic humanitarian standards and principles.

Project

Inclusive Sustainable Livelihoods and Integrated Health Services for the crisis- affected people with disabilities and their families in Yemen

This project aims to improve the livelihoods of 120 households with persons with disabilities through a comprehensive set of interventions. The primary focus is on providing tailored training programs in soft skills, financial management, and business development to equip beneficiaries with the necessary skills for economic empowerment. To ensure inclusivity, beneficiaries will be identified and assessed, and local vocational training centers will be made accessible to them. Workshops will be conducted for trainers and staff at these centers to create an inclusive learning environment that caters to the specific needs of persons with disabilities.

Project

Socio-economic assessment and support for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the northern governorates - Yemen

SRPD is implementing the “Socio-economic assessment and support for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the northern governorates of Yemen.” The project focuses on assessing and supporting vulnerable households through socio-economic assessments, emergency/rapid assessments, and cash assistance for eligible individuals. It follows UNHCR guidelines, emphasizing a participatory, community-based approach while integrating age, gender, and diversity into all activities.

Through coordination with UNHCR and other humanitarian actors, SRPD offers timely referrals to essential services like medical care and legal support, helping reduce harmful coping mechanisms and enhancing protection for those at risk.

CALP Network

Safe Road for Peace & Development joined The CALP Network as a member on May 1st, 2024. The CALP Network is a leading global organization establishing best practices, common standards and building capacity for Cash & Voucher Assistance (CVA) in humanitarian responses. Through our new membership, SRPD aims to strengthen our program approach and technical skills in line with best practices in the sector. We will engage with CALP’s diverse forums and resources to continually learn, share knowledge and work towards collective goals of empowering communities through choice and dignity.
